Eagles take down Two Rivers; host Campbellsport Saturday on U-102.1

The Southern Door Eagles proved basketball is truly a game of runs tonight against Two Rivers, winning 71-58 on U-102.1 and NEW Radio Sports Network.

The beginning of the game began as a back and forth affair, with Drew Daoust and Carson Kadow trading blows, ultimately having Two Rivers jump out to an early 7-6 lead. Daoust would connect with multiple three point shots early on, and gave Southern Door a comfortable early lead after a fight with the Raiders early.

Jack Peterson would be a key factor in this one for the Eagles, hitting two early threes to extend the Southern Door lead to 21-11 with just under six minutes left in the first half. Two Rivers would not go down without a fight however, as Brady Richards would fight through foul trouble in the first half, but still lead the way in first half scoring for the Raiders.

A buzzer beating three before the break from Eli Gallagher would make the halftime score 35-24 in favor of the Eagles.

The second half would be a test for Southern Door, as Two Rivers got the lead down to as low as three, but Jared Hawkey would begin to take over. Going seven for seven overall from the free throw line and key baskets underneath would seal the win for the Eagles.

Southern Door will be back in action tomorrow night as they take on the Campbellsport Cougars on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. Gary Barta and Lucas Stephenson will be on the call from Brussels with pregame beginning at 6:45 and tip at 7.
