Eagles soar past Pioneers on 103.3 The Clipper host Crivitz Saturday

The Southern Door Eagles rolled to an easy 91-36 victory over the Sevastopol Pioneers Friday night in Boys’ Packerland Conference action.   

The Eagles’ Drew Daoust, after making history eclipsing the 1,000 career point mark earlier this week, scored 22 of his game-high 36 points in the first half to lead Southern Door to their tenth Packerland win of the season. 

Sevastopol took an early 3-2 lead with a three-pointer by Oliver Mathews, but Southern Door would go on a big run by forcing numerous turnovers that turned into fast break layups to take a 58-28 into halftime.

At intermission, a ceremony featuring Steve Neville and John Berns as the newest inductees to the Southern Door Athletic Hall of Fame.  With Gordy Swiggum presenting Neville and Al Breitlow presenting John Berns.  Neville and Berns visited with NRSN's Paul Schmitt prior to the induction ceremony.

 

 

 

Daoust, the player of the game, hit four three-pointers and had several steals leading to easy transition baskets

Sevastopol was led in scoring by Nick Peterson and Daniel Castillo-Barahona who scored 11 points each. 

Southern Door (14-3 overall, 10-1) will now host the Crivitz Wolverines in a non-conference matchup on Saturday which is a make-up from a postponed game earlier this season.  The game has been moved up to start at 6:30 pm with JV’s playing at 5 p.m.
