Southern Door High School

Daoust heads for historic season led by family

The last name Daoust has echoed in the halls of Southern Door High School since the 2015-2016 school year, beginning with the oldest brother Kyle. Kyle Daoust currently holds multiple records in the glass record cases outside of the Eagle Gym at Southern Door, but the most memorable one being the most points scored in a single game, which he set at 51. Then came middle brother Alex, who had a hand in a Packerland Conference championship in all four years of high school. Alex currently coaches at Southern Door, who may have one of the best guards in the state, as a Sophomore.

Drew Daoust, the youngest brother, and potentially the most skilled between the three, is currently tearing through the Packerland conference averaging north of 30 points, which puts him at 4th in the state. Currently, Daoust sits 79 points off of 1000, and would be on pace to reach that Tuesday January 31st in Two Rivers.

Drew sat down with New Radio Sports Network before the January 17th game against Kewaunee, and briefly talked about his brother Alex as a member of the coaching staff, and how he has modeled his game after his two brothers.

Daoust and the Eagles currently sit at 10-3 overall and are in first in the Packerland at 7-1. Eagle fans and supporters can thank Daoust’s 12 point jump in scoring from last season, going from 19 points per game, to that notable 32 point mark. What does the future of this Eagle team have in store for the rest of the season? According to Drew, big things could be on the way, inclduing a Packerland Conference Championship.
