Southern Door High School

Eagles return main core and look to start season strong against Denmark

Southern Door will open with the team they have most recently faced, as the Eagles will open up their season at home against the Denmark Vikings.

Southern Door, who was 15-11 overall and 11-5 in Packerland Conference play, was eliminated by Denmark 51-34 in round two of the WIAA postseason. The Eagles do not lose many contributors from last season's team, as they will still have their top three scorers, and most importantly Drew Daoust back. Daoust is ranked in the state and was a key contributor last season, and is projected to take another step up as well.

Denmark was one of the best teams in Division three last season, but they have lost a lot of key talent from their team last season. They can thank their 18-9 record on Donovan Short, who is now playing basketball for Wisconsin-Green Bay, Hayden Konkol, Kenneth Satori, and many other contributors who have graduated. The Vikings will still have talent, but the Eagles could play spoiler for the Vikings season opener.

Tip is scheduled for 7:30 in Brussels.
