The Southern Door Eagles will take on the Wausaukee Rangers in their season opener on Friday night in Wausaukee. 

Southern Door hired a new head coach this offseason, as Andy Bruess will take over for the Eagles and make his Southern Door debut on the road. His team will be led by multiple underclassmen players, as the Eagles did not have a senior on the roster last year. The 6-19 record of last year should be much improved upon. One of the team's wins last year was against these same Wausaukee Rangers, as they won 45-41 with Paige Olson scoring 10 points leading the Eagles. 

Wausaukee also had a challenging season last year, as they finished 4-20 overall and were not able to win a game in their conference. The Rangers got their season underway already, as they took a close loss to Florence 52-46. Wausaukee relies on Senior Rachel Schleis who averaged double digits last season.
