Eagles look to get past Lions in WIAA postseason

After receiving a one seed in the WIAA reveal show on Saturday, the Packerland conference champion Southern Door Eagles will be back in action as they host the Brillion Lions.

Southern Door ended their season perfect at 9-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play. A big factor of that record has been the defense, who was able to shut out the Sturgeon Bay Clippers last week, and not allow them to even reach the red zone on any of their drives. Drew Daoust and Zack Lynch have also been key contributors to the offense to keep them afloat and to make sure the team is not one dimensional. The Eagles have had some trouble with Brillion in the past, but they are looking to make things right with a win on Friday night.

Brillion had more of a challenging year than most expected, with their overall record being 3-6 and 3-4 in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference. The Lions were led to that record and the eight seed in the playoffs by play from their defense and Running Back Jaden Bastian. Brillion was able to sneak into the playoffs thanks to losing to some top teams in their conference and overall strength of schedule.

The game is scheduled for 7:00 kickoff in Brussels.
