In return to action for the first time since losing two straight weeks to Kewaunee to end their season last year, the Eagles of Southern Door will look to sink the Flying Dutchmen of Oostburg during their week one meeting. 

 

The Eagles went 8-4 last season and 6-1 in Packerland conference play. Southern Door returns starters all over the team from last season, but have seen some positional changes under a new Head Coach Mark Jonas. Southern Door is looking to dethrone the Storm from their conference title throne this season, and winning at Oostburg would be a good start. 

 

Oostburg was a 3-6 team last season, finishing 2-5 in the Big East Conference. The Flying Dutchmen were led by star running back Jay DeBlaey last season, but was a senior so the hole at running back could potentially be large for the team. 

 

The two teams did match up last season, where it was the Eagles starting off the season 1-0 with a 25-17 win coming down to the wire. DeBlaey did have 166 total yards of offense and two touchdowns in that matchup, so the Eagles will be glad to not have to face him again.
