Eagles softball sweeps Kewaunee, head to Sevastopol Friday

The Southern Door Eagles swept the Kewaunee Storm on the softball diamond Thursday, but not without a bit of excitement.

The Eagles rallied from 3-0 and 6-3 deficits to beat the Storm 10-7 in the first game. Sophia Counard, Ashlynn Delfosse, Colbi Jauquet, and Bella Price each had two hits for the Eagles and combined to drive in five runs. Chloe Lustila earned the win when she came in relief for Delfosse and threw two scoreless innings.

Lustila would bust out the bat and return to the mound in game two that the Eagles won 7-6. She drove in a pair on two doubles while striking out four over five innings. Taylor Schlies matched Lustila on the base paths for the Storm, also driving in two runs on a pair of doubles.  Mykenzi Uhlers took the loss for the Storm.

The Eagles will now face Sevastopol for a 5 p.m. showdown in Institute. The Pioneers swept their games against NEW Lutheran in convincing fashion.
