There will be a mutual respect on both sidelines Friday night when Southern Door hosts Luxemburg-Casco for a revival of a former Packerland football conference rivalry. The Spartans left the Packerland Conference in 2007. The Eagles are trying to snap a five-game losing streak dating back to 2002, including a 29-14 loss during their last matchup in 2006. With their respective games against Kewaunee and Denmark canceled, the Eagles and the Spartans were able to link up for the game. Luxemburg-Casco coach Cody Willems tweeted his excitement shortly after Southern Door athletic director Korey Mallien tweeted the announcement.
Excited for this opportunity to travel up to Brussels next week! So many connections in our program to that school district! It’s too bad we have spectator restrictions or that would be a packed game! https://t.co/8jgOwxr3Nw
