DoorKewauneeHighSchoolSports.com is starting a series dedicated to the continued safety of our student-athletes on the field, at practice and in preparation for competition. Door County Medical Center provides athletic trainers to the four local schools, a service that ensures the student-athletes receive top tier care during all sports seasons.

 

Licensed Athletic Trainer Tia Jackson had the opportunity to work with Sturgeon Bay’s fall sports athletes. She is also Clinical Athletic Trainer. While Jackson loves the clinical training and rehab, Jackson also enjoys covering all four local high schools. She says the most rewarding part of her job is seeing an injured student-athlete make a full recovery.

 

 

Tia Jackson, formerly Tia Jandrin knows all about the long road to recovery after an injury. As a freshman at Southern Door, Tia started experiencing patellar dislocations. Then sophomore year, she tore her ACL and MCL in basketball. Her high school athletic trainer Holly Ray made the world of difference for her and she wants to do the same for the next generation of student-athletes in Door County.

 

Tia Jackson earned has a bachelor of science in athletic training and a master of science in clinical and translational rehabilitation science with an emphasis on biomechanics and a teaching certificate from Marquette University.
