Vikings baseball head south for non-conference bout vs. Mishicot

The Gibraltar baseball team will take another break from Packerland play for a non-conference matchup against Mishicot on Friday afternoon.

The Vikings have struggled the last few weeks, battling the weather and tough competition en route to dropping six of their last seven games. Their lone win during that span came on Monday when the Vikings baseball team scored 10 runs across their final two frames to run away from Hilbert 13-3 in seven innings. After trading runs in the first inning, the Vikings tacked on single tallies in the second and third innings before exploding for four in the fifth and six in the sixth. Freshman phenom Aaron Brey led the Vikings offensively with three hits and four RBI on the afternoon.  Bennett Isaacson and Aiden Purinton each added two hits while seven players had at least one RBI. The team most recently dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Kewaunee 10-1 and 9-1.

The Indians come into the game 6-7 on the year and 4-3 in the Big East Conference. They already handled one Packerland opponent this week, beating Sevastopol 10-0 on Tuesday. That was their second straight win in a stretch that has seen them split their last six games.
