Phoenix men turn over game to Bearcats

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team was forced into 21 turnovers that were turned into 23 Cincinnati points as they lost Thursday night on the road 81-64.

The Phoenix held their own early, holding a 20-19 lead midway through the period before the Bearcats blew it open with a 10-2 run to take a 29-22 lead that they would not relinquish. Trailing 40-32 at the break, the Phoenix never got closer than six points thanks to a 22-6 run by the Bearcats. A 7-0 run by the Phoenix cut the deficit, but not enough to put the game at risk for the Bearcats.

Orlando Lovejoy led the Phoenix with 16 points while Isaiah Sutherland and Clarence Paiya each scored 12 points in the loss. Myles Colvin led the Bearcats with 28 points while three others registered double figures.

The Phoenix men return to action against St. Thomas for a 1 p.m. Sunday matinee.
