The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team got their regular season off on a high note Monday night, beating Lawrence University 94-51 at the Kress Events Center.
An early 13-0 run in the first half and an 8-0 rally in the second half put plenty of distance between the Phoenix and the Vikings. The Phoenix's three-point shooting did not hurt things either, as they hit nearly 58 percent of their shots behind the arc. Their defense hassled the Vikings, forcing them to shoot under 30 percent from the field and commit 15 turnovers, nine of which came from Phoenix steals.
Ne'quan Brown led the Phoenix with 14 points off the bench. Marcus Hall added 12 points while Keegan Van Kauwenberg and Stewart Erhart each tallied nine points.
The road gets a lot tougher for the Phoenix as they complete their first week of the regular season with games at Cincinnati on Thursday and St. Thomas on Sunday./
