Packers blast Bears

Category: National Sports

The Green Bay Packers aired it out against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, securing a 31-7 victory over their southern rivals.

The Packers jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter courtesy of a 42-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Christian Watson  and a seven-yard rushing touchdown by Marshawn Lloyd before D'Andre Swift capped a long drive with a one-yard score.

The Packers opened the second half with another long scoring connection between Love and Watson, this time from 53 yards to make it 20-7. A Trey Smack field goal accounted for the other score in the third quarter, while Lloyd added a second score early in the fourth quarter to salt the game away.

The Packers defense took advantage of both backup quarterbacks for the Bears, picking them off a combined three times, including two by Xavier McKinney. The team also recovered two fumbles.

Love shined brightly with 25 completions good for 367 yards and two touchdowns. Watson and Matthew Golden each accounted for more than 120 yards.

The Packers now sit at 3-2 and will face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
