Packers outlast Bucs

The Green Bay Packers won the game 17-14 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday afternoon, but suffered another significant loss on the injury front.

The Packers struck first in the second quarter on a two-yard route by Matthew Golden, only to have the Buccaneers tie it up on the next drive. Trey Smack gave the Packers the lead and what ultimately became the final margin of victory when he drilled a 58-yard field goal at the end of the half to make it 10-7 at the break.

The two teams traded touchdowns in the second half as well, with Jordan Love connecting with Tucker Kraft early in the third while the Buccaneers scored their own touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The Packers' defense had to make a play in the end to secure the win and even their record at 2-2.

The Packers were able to run the ball better on Sunday with 86 rushing yards, led by Kaleb Johnson's 42 yards and Chris Brooks' 30 yards. Love was 22-30 for 197 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. The win was overshadowed by Edgerrin Cooper's injury, who may now be out for the season with a torn Achilles.

The Packers will try to climb above .500 for the first time this season on Sunday when they host the Chicago Bears for a noon kickoff.
