The Green Bay Packers made history for all the wrong reasons on Sunday as they watched another double-digit second-half lead evaporate and turn into a 39-22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

 

The Packers started the game with a 9-0 lead after Trey Smack banged in a field goal ahead of an 81-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Christian Watson. A flurry of activity at the end of the second quarter saw both Love and Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz connect with their top targets for touchdowns to make it 19-10 at the break.

 

Things started to unravel after the Packers extended their lead to 22-10 on a Trey Smack field goal. The Vikings scored four touchdowns after the three-minute mark in the third quarter, three of which happened within a span of less than three minutes.

 

Jordan Love nearly threw for 400 yards to go along with two touchdowns, but a lost fumble, a late pick, and an inaccurate day (21-42) led to his team's demise. The Packers' rushing attack also struggled against the Vikings' defensive front with Marshawn Lloyd's 37 yards on 13 carries the high water mark for the team.  

 

The Packers look to bounce back next Sunday on the road when they play the New York Jets.
