Daniel Dickinson and Wande Torres need to make more room for awards. The Milwaukee Brewers have announced Dickinson as their Minor League Player of the Month for August with Torres as their Minor League Pitcher of the Month for August.
This is the third time this season the Timber Rattlers have swept those awards. It was also the fourth consecutive month a Rattler has won Milwaukee’s Minor League Pitcher of the Month.
Torres, who also was Milwaukee’s Minor League Pitcher of the Month in July, finished his time with Wisconsin strong before his promotion to the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers on August 31 by improving on his stellar numbers in July. The left-hander, an International Free Agent signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2022, was 3-0 with a 1.75 ERA in five games – three starts – for the Timber Rattlers in August. He walked eight and struck out 33 in 25-2/3 innings last month. Torres picked continued his dominance in his first appearance for the Shuckers with five scoreless innings of relief and just one hit allowed for the win in Biloxi’s 6-5 ten-inning victory over Birmingham on September 2.
Dickinson, who was named MiLB’s Midwest League Player of the Month for August yesterday, got even hotter in August during a torrid second half of the season. Milwaukee’s sixth round pick in the 2025 draft finished the first half with no homers, fifteen stolen bases, and an average of exactly .200. Dickinson was 36-for-105 (.343) with four homers, nineteen RBI, and eighteen stolen bases as he played in all 27 of Wisconsin’s games last month. Additionally, Dickinson had nine doubles, scored 25 runs, and walked fifteen times with an OPS of 1.033 in August. The product of LSU has raised his average to .277 with ten homers and 56 stolen bases for the entire 2026 season.
Andrew Fischer and Braylon Owens were named the Brewers Player and Pitcher of the Month for May when they were Timber Rattlers. Both were promoted to Biloxi.
Josh Knoth and Josiah Ragsdale swept those awards for June. Ragsdale was promoted to Biloxi in at the end of June and was recently traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for Dustin May and JoJo Romero. Knoth was promoted to Biloxi before the end of the Rattlers last homestand in August.
The Timber Rattlers are playing their final series of the season at Beloit this week. Game four of the six-game set at ABC Supply Stadium is tonight at 6:05pm.
