After 14 years with the organization and seven as the head coach, the Green Bay Blizzard's Corey Roberson is leaving his post.

 

Roberson's Blizzard teams had advanced to the IFL National Championship the last two seasons and oversaw the squad's turnaround from cellar dwellers to the top of the league. 

 

Roberson was complimentary of the organization as he said good bye on Facebook:

As I take on this new journey, I feel compelled to publicly thank Green Bay Blizzard owners, Larry and Kathy Treankler for everything you’ve done for me and my family over the past 7 plus years.

 

You aren’t just team owners; you’ve been true mentors and partners in everything we’ve achieved here. Thank you for giving me the platform to grow as a coach and administrator.

 

As I reflect on the past seven seasons, I am filled with pride and excitement for everything we have built. It has been an absolute honor to lead these athletes (2019-present), collaborate with our dedicated staff, especially Ryan Hopson, all my Coaches, and connect with our passionate community. I am stepping away with deep gratitude for the organization’s support and a lifetime of cherished memories that will last not only for me, but for my entire family. 41 wins over the three seasons, isn’t too bad. And we did just that!

 

The Blizzard also expressed their gratitude to its now former head coach:

Corey, thank you for over a decade of dedication, leadership, and passion. You will always hold a very special place in our hearts and within the wider Blizzard community. We wish you nothing but the absolute best in your next chapter! Of course, if we see you on the field... all bets are off!
