A trip to Sister Bay is on the line this Sunday afternoon when Baileys Harbor makes a visit to Maplewood to play for the final spot in the Door County Baseball League playoffs.
The Mets played their way into the conversation with a dominating 21-1 win over Institute. The Mets outhit the Cubs 21-4 and took advantage of four errors. Adam Gutschow had four hits and four RBI to lead the Mets while Mason Paye also had four hits and Kody Kissinger, Jaden Diller, and Will Jandrin recorded three. Diller also drove in four runs while Kissinger (2), Tory Jandrin (3), and Paye (2) had multi-RBI games as well. Diller, Kissinger, and Tory Jandrin all homered in the game. Tory Jandrin earned the win on the mound, shutting out the Cubs over five innings while allowing three hits and three walks and striking out three.
The A's held the fourth spot until it got nipped by West jacksonport 5-4 in the finale. Danny Lodl and Caleb Plzak each had two hits while Owen Dannhausen recorded the lone RBI. Aaron Brey took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs (1 ER) on eight hits and three walks while striking out one.
The Mets swept the season series from the A's, beating them 16-0 on June 14th and 7-4 on August 2nd.
