West Jacksonport extended the league's season on Sunday with a 5-4 win over Baileys Harbor, which will now have to play Maplewood to make it into the playoffs.
Scoreless through three innings, the A's scored three runs across two innings before the Ports scratched out a run of their own in the fifth inning. The Ports flipped the game on its head in the seventh inning with a four-spot wih Drew Tanck and Frank de Young delivering run-scoring hits. The A's scored once in the top of the ninth and had the tying run on base before a ground out ended the game.
For the Ports, Drew Tanck posted three hits while Riley Cordier and de Young each tallied two. Peyton Kuehn and de Young each recorded one RBI. CJ Goetz earned the win, striking out six across three scoreless innings while allowing one hit.
For the A's, Danny Lodl and Caleb Plzak each had two hits while Owen Dannhausen recorded the lone RBI. Aaron Brey took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs (1 ER) on eight hits and three walks while striking out one.
The A's will now have to travel to Maplewood on August 23rd to try to capture the fourth-seed.
