The season will stay on the brink for another night after the Kewaunee Chiefs forced a third game in their series with the Denmark Devilbears after beating them 10-5 on Wednesday.

Scoreless through two innings, the bats came alive for both teams in the third inning with the Devilbears jumping out to a 3-2 lead. The difference came in the fourth inning for the Chiefs, which scored five runs in the frame thanks in part to some Devilbears mistakes and a two-run single by Reese Berg. After allowing another run in the sixth inning, the Chiefs tacked on three more runs in the seventh on three consecutive singles from Lincoln Barta, Conor Kilgore, and Brett Paulsen. A ninth inning run allowed proved to be harmless as the Chiefs forced a winner-take-all game on Thursday at home at 7:30 p.m.

Paulsen, Berg, and Kilgore all had two hits while Berg led the team with four RBI. Cale Beckman earned the win on the mound, allowing four runs (3 ER) on nine hits and one walk while striking out nine across 5.1 innings.
