A fast start for the Maplewood Mets helped them slide into a 7-4 victory over Baileys Harbor on Sunday.

 

A two-run triple by Kody Kissinger in the first inning and back-to-back extra base hits by Gavin Brady and Jaden Diller helped the Mets coast to a 6-0 lead through the first two innings. The A's did not go away with single tallies in the fourth and fifth innings before the Mets struck back with one of their own in the sixth inning. The A's biggest rally came in the seventh inning when Chris Lodl and Caleb Plzak had back-to-back RBI singles and had the tying run at the plate before the Mets induced a fielder's choice to end the scoring for the game.

 

 

For the Mets, Diller and Kordell Draves each had three hits while Kissinger led the way with three RBI. Tory Jandrin earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs (1 ER) on four hits and two walks while striking out three across five innings.

 

For the A's, Aaron Brey, Chris Lodl, and Hayden Reetz each had two hits with Lodl, Plzak, and Reetz accounting for the RBI. Danny Lodl took the loss, allowing four runs (4 ER) on four hits) and two walks while striking out two across 1.1 innings.
