Penguins pass by Polar Bears

The Algoma Penguins scored at least one run in six consecutive innings as they beat the Two Rivers Polar Bears 16-10 on Wednesday.

The Penguins piled up extra base hits with Austin Dart clubbing two homers, Brady Kita hitting one, Jack Peterson adding one of his own to go along with his two doubles, and Jacob Massey and Jaden Dillar also hitting doubles. Paired with eight walks drawn, the Penguins had leads of 6-1 and 11-3 before a five-run sixth inning for the Polar Bears added some minor drama.

Peterson and Dart each went 3-5 with four RBI while Kita, Charlie Prokash, Massey, and Braeden Leist each had two hits. Leist joined Peterson and Dart in having multi-RBI games. Carson Leist earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs (0 ER) on two hits and nine walks while striking out 10 across five innings. Kita and Braeden Leist came in to pitch in relief.
