The Green Bay Rockers sprinted out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back in a 10-2 win over the Madison Mallards on Wednesday evening.

A five-run third inning proved to be the deciding factor in the contest with Dawson Schmidt's grand slam following a bases-loaded walk serving as the biggest blow. The Mallards mounted a small comeback with single tallies in the fourth and fifth inning, but two bases-loaded walks drawn by the Rockers in the bottom of the fifth inning erased their progress. The Rockers tacked on one more run in the sixth to finish the scoring.

Schmidt finished the night going 3-5 and four RBI on his homer while Coleman Lewis went 2-3 and two RBI. Eddy Eveland allowed two runs (2 ER) on three hits and a walk while striking out five across seven innings to earn the win.

The Rockers hit the road for the rest of the week with games against Battle Creek on Thursday and Friday and Royal Oak on Saturday and Sunday before playing a pair of home-and-home series with Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids next week.
