The playoff picture for the Door County Baseball League can look a lot different after Sunday with one game in particular providing most of the drama.

 

First-place Washington Island heads across Death's Door to play Sister Bay, who is tied for second-place with Kolberg at 9-2. The Islanders shutout Institute on Sunday 10-0 in eight innings. Cam Munao extended his lead for the battling title with a 4-4 afternoon with three RBI and two runs scored. Caleb Cornell was great as well for the Islanders, going 3-5 with two RBI. The combination of Ryan Jorgenson, Benett Isaacson-Krueger, and Will Henrickson were stingy with each allowing no runs on one hit while combining to strikeout eight batters. Tom Sawyer, Stew Larsen, and Spencer Krause all had two hits. Larsen led the way with five RBI while Krause and Sam Forkert each had two. Forkert was the winning pitcher, allowing six runs (4 ER) on 13 hits while striking out eight.

 

Second-place Kolberg hits the road to face Egg Harbor, who entered the weekend tied with West Jacksonport at 3-8. The Braves' Trevor Hawkey, Trevor Reinhardt, Jack Peterson, and Tyler Neinas all had two hits as they combined to drive in four runs. Austin Rohe and Austen Dart accounted for the other two RBI. Reinhardt got the win on the mound, allowing one run (0 ER) on four hits and no walks while striking out seven across six innings. The Indians fell to Baileys Harbor 6-1 last Friday night. Cody Giesseman, Alex Danen, Nick Torski, and Cole Frangipiane all registered hits. Jace Johnson took the loss, allowing two runs (2 ER), on four hits and a walk while striking out one.

 

Baileys Harbor looks to firm up its position in fourth place when it travels to Maplewood, who sits two games behind the A's in fifth place at 4-7. The A's beat Egg Harbor 6-1 last Friday night. Chris and Danny Lodl combined to shut down the Indians, striking out eight batters with the blemishes belonging to Chris (1 ER, 4 H, 3 BB over six innings). Chris Lodl and Bryce Plzak each had two hits while Bryce Plzak, Danny Lodl, Caleb Plzak, and River Pawelski all had one RBI to go with Aaron Brey's two. The Mets lost to Kolberg 7-2 on Sunday. Jerek Valley came off the bench to go 2-3 while Adam Gutschow and Kordell Draves each went 1-4 with an RBI. Gavin Brady took the loss, allowing seven runs (6 ER) on eight hits and five walks in three innings of work.
