The Washington Island Islanders scored in all but two of the eight innings they played on Sunday, beating the Institute Cubs 10-0 in the process.

After single tallies in the first and second innings, the Islanders broke the game open in the third inning with three runs, with run-scoring singles from Cam Munao and Caleb Cornell leading the assault. Munao's double in the fourth added two more runs before the Islanders called game with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to place the game in mercy-rule territory.

For the Islanders, Munao extended his lead for the battling title with a 4-4 afternoon with three RBI and two runs scored. Cornell was great as well for the Islanders, going 3-5 with two RBI. The combination of Ryan Jorgenson, Benett Isaacson-Krueger, and Will Henrickson were stingy with each allowing no runs on one hit while combining to strikeout eight batters.

For the Cubs, Caleb Hoffman, Siggy Hansen, and Tommy Junion each had one hit. Hansen took the loss, allowing nine runs (6 ER) on 10 hits and four walks while striking out four.
