The Green Bay Rockers' streaky second half continued Wednesday with a series sweep at the hands of the Kenosha Kingfish as they fell 8-5.
The Kingfish answered the Rockers' game-opening tally with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning. The two teams traded four run rallies in the fourth and fifth innings before the Kingfish added two insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth to cap the scoring. Both teams struggled in the field with three errors apiece, though the Kingfish outhit the Rockers 9-4.
Alejandro Covas, Jeremy Delamota, Ben Fishel, and Dom Bello recorded hits for the Rockers while it was Covas, Coleman Lewish, and Fishel that were credited with RBI. Isaac Gammel took the loss for the Rockers, allowing eight runs (6 ER) on six hits and five walks while striking out one across four innings.
The Rockers will play a day-night doubleheader against the Wausau Woodchucks on Thursday before returning home to face Royal Oak on Friday.
