With one game in the bag this weekend, Door County Baseball League action will feature three games across the peninsula on Sunday, including in West Jacksonport where the Ports will welcome Sister Bay.
The Ports are coming off of a tough 5-1 loss to second-place Kolberg last weekend. The Braves lead grew to 4-0 before the Ports scored their lone run on a Drew Tanck RBI double. Tanck, CJ Goetz, and Luke Steebs each had two hits. Peyton Kuehn took the loss, allowing four runs (2 ER) on six hits and three walks while striking out six.
The Bays are coming off a 15-5 win over Maplewood last weekend. After the Mets scored two runs to open the game, the Bays scored 12 consecutive runs, including run-scoring hits from Matt Hecht, Griffin Cole, Sawyer Johnson, and Stew Larsen. Cole went 4-5 with five RBI while Casey Weddig and Larsen had three hit days and Tom Sawyer reached based five times with three walks and two hits. Sam Forkert got the win with six innings pitched, allowing four runs (3 ER) on seven hits and a walk while striking out four.
Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 1:15 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 1:30 p.m.
Other games on Sunday include Kolberg visiting Maplewood and Washington Island hosting Institute.
