The Algoma Penguins used a seven-run seventh inning to break their losing skid with a 12-6 victory on Monday.

The two teams traded rallies in the first six innings with the Penguins holding a lead of 5-1 before allowing one run in the third inning and a pair of runs in the fourth and sixth innings. Trailing 6-5 in the seventh inning, the Penguins took advantage of two errors, two walks, and run-scoring hits from Owen Dannhausen and Hobbs Emerson to take a lead they would not give up.

The Penguins were outhit 9-7, but a 7-4 edge in errors proved to be fatal for the Polar Bears.

Dannhausen went 3-6 with three RBI to lead the Penguins while Jack Peterson  recorded two hits and Jaden Dillar posted three RBI. Carson Leist earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs (1 ER) on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters across four innings.
