Rockers finish off sweep of Battle Jacks

The Green Bay Rockers followed up an 8-4 win on Saturday with a 12-4 victory against the Battle Creek Battle Jacks. 

 

A two-run homer by Alejandro Covas in the third inning stood until the Battle Jacks hit a three-run homer to make it 3-2. The Rockers answered quickly with five runs int he fifth inning Aidan Kuni, David Ballenilla, JT Starkus, and Landon Schaefer all knocking in runs in the frame. The Rockers piled on late with Covas and Coleman Lewis leaving the yard before the Battle Jacks scored a single run in the ninth inning.

 

Covas and Starkus each had four hits and combined to drive in five runs while Lewis went 2-3 with two RBI. Kyle Knoll got the win, throwing three shutout innings while allowing two hits and a walk to go along with two strikeouts.

 

The Rockers hit the road this week with two game sets in Kenosha and Wausau before welcoming Royal Oak on Friday.
