Egg Harbor outhomered Institute 3-1 on Friday night to sprint away with an 11-1 win in eight innings.
The Indians struck first with one run in the first inning and two more in second inning, highlighted by a two-run homer from Brady Kita. Will Hartman got the Cubs on the scoreboard with a solo shot in the fifth inning, but the Indians took over from there with two runs in the sixth inning and five more in the seventh courtesy of homers from Cody Geisseman and Drew Price. Nick Kita put the game on ice in the eighth inning with an RBI single in the eighth inning to give the Indians the 10-run mercy rule win.
For the Indians, Nick Kita and Alec Danen each had three hits while Brady Kita, Geisseman, and Price all had two hits, with the top five batters accounting for all 11 runs batted in. Jace Johnson got the win on the mound for the Indians, allowing the solo shot but scattering four other hits while striking out three.
For the Cubs, eight different batters got at least one hit, with Hartman driving in the only run. Hartman also took the loss on the mound, allowing three runs (3 ER) on 10 hits while striking out three.
