Chiefs knockout Devilbears

Kewaunee left Denmark with their perfect record still intact as they beat Denmark 5-3 in Friday night Shoreland League action.

The Chiefs finally got on the scoreboard in the sixth inning, plating two runs before the Devilbears tied the game up in the bottom of the inning. The tie was short-lived as the Chiefs scored three times in the seventh inning thanks to a bases-clearing double by Reese Berg. The Devilbears scored one more time in the eighth, but would not get any closer.

Berg ended his evening with two hits and three RBI while Cale Beckman knocked in the other run. Joe Anderson nearly went the distance, allowing three runs (1 ER) on six hits and five walks while striking out 13 batters across 8.2 innings before Beckman secured the save with the final out.
