Washington Island bookended their matchup against Egg Harbor with big innings to secure an 18-6 win on the road Sunday.
The Islanders plated five runs in the first inning and six runs in the seventh to force the early eight inning ending. The Indians were able to nibble away at the early deficit with one run in the second inning, two in the third inning, and three in the fifth inning, but ultimately could not keep up with the Islanders' offense.
For the Islanders, Ben Johnson led the Islanders with a 3-6 afternoon that included a double, a triple, and seven RBI. The Geiger family accounted for two hits and four RBI while Cam Munao went 3-4 with two RBI and Ryan Jorgenson also tallied two hits and an RBI. Bennett Isaacson-Krueger earned the win, pitching 2.2 innings of no-hit ball.
For the Indians, Drew Olsen took the loss as he gave up eight runs (3 ER) on six hits and three walks across 2.1 innings. Nick Kita and Drew Price each had two hits with Kita also driving in two runs.
