The Green Bay Rockers withstood a late rally by the Fond du Lac Spiders to win their second straight game on Sunday 8-6.
The Rockers were already leading 3-0 when they doubled their advantage in the fifth inning on a two-run single by David Ballenilla and a run-scoring hit from Ben Fishel. The lead reached 7-0 when the Dock Spiders started to make head way with two runs in the sixth, seventh, and ninth inning before the Rockers were able to snuff out the comeback.
Max Humphrey led the Rockers with three hits including a home run while Ballenilla went 2-2 with four RBI. Kaden Straily earned the win in relief, allowing two runs (2 ER) on one hit and three walks while striking out two across two innings.
The two teams will play each other at Capital Credit Union Park Monday night at 6:35 p.m.
