Rockers edged in road loss to Chinooks

The Green Bay Rockers lost their third game in a row on Monday, falling to the Lakeshore Chinooks 9-8.

 

The Rockers had built a 5-0 lead through their half of the fifth inning before things went off the rails. The Chinooks scored five runs in the fifth inning to tie the game and took the lead with four more in the sixth inning. The Rockers whittled away at the advantage with two runs in the seventh and one more in the ninth, but could never get over the hump to extend their skid.

 

The Rockers outhit the Chinooks 10-7 with Max Humphrey posting three hits and one RBI and Eric Fernandez adding two with four RBI. Henry Irwin took the loss, allowing three runs (2 ER) on one hit in one inning of work.

 

The two teams are back at it Tuesday night.
