Blizzard make it six-straight as they ease past San Antonio 62-28

The Green Bay Blizzard made it six wins in a row Friday night, dismantling the San Antonio Gunslingers 62-28 in the first-ever meeting between the two teams at the Resch Center.

It was back and forth early. San Antonio jumped out to a quick lead on a touchdown pass from QB Fred Payton Jr., but Liam Thompson answered right back with a scoring strike to Trevon Alexander. The Gunslingers responded again, and Kairee Robinson punched one in on the ground to keep it close. Green Bay led 25-21 at the half, but it wasn't exactly a comfortable margin.

The second half was a completely different story. Robinson and the Blizzard took over, scoring his second rushing touchdown early in the third to push the lead. Then the Blizzard defense started making plays. Najei Snyder picked off a pass, Franky West Jr. added another interception, and Jonathan Ross brought down Payton Jr. on a fourth down stop. Every time San Antonio had the ball, Green Bay took it back.

Robinson finished with four rushing touchdowns on the night, and backup QB Cole Stenstrom came in late and connected with Robinson for a fifth score. Green Bay pulled away with 23 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to put it completely out of reach.

The Blizzard now hold the best record in the Indoor Football League at 9-1. They head to Moline next week to take on the Quad City Steamwheelers, the only team to beat them this season.
