Athletes hope to punch tickets to LaCrosse at WIAA Sectionals Friday

The path to the WIAA Track and Field Championships in LaCrosse has come down to one more meet as area athletes travel to their respective sectional sites on Friday.

 

Luxemburg-Casco and Sturgeon Bay athletes will head to Chilton for their sectional meet where they will face other qualifiers from Adams/Friendship, Amherst, Berlin, Brillion, Chilton, Clintonville, Denmark, Fox Valley Lutheran, Freedom, Kiel, Little Chute, Marinette, Menomonee Indian, New Holstein, New London, Notre Dame Academy, Oconto Falls, Omro, Peshtigo, Ripon, Seymour, Shawano Community, Stanley-Boyd, Two Rivers, Waupaca, Wautoma, Westfield-Pioneer, Winneconne, Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Wrightstown, and Xavier.

 

The Clippers' Cedar Tomberlin (high jump), Talia Schmidt (pole vault), Oliver Carmody (pole vault), Rayshaune Johnson (100m), Delaney Skiba (3200m), and Genevieve Austad (long jump) and the Spartans' Brady Kinnard (200m), Ezra Treml (1600m, 3200m), Zach Tassoul (1600m, 3200m), Derek Christoph (3200m), Mason Trimberger(110m and 300m hurdles), Levi Kinnard (300m hurdles), boys 4x200m relay, boys 4x400m relay, Drake Wolf (long jump), Ana Wolfert (100m hurdles, long jump and triple jump), Ali Jansen (high jump, 300m hurdles), girls 4x200m relay, girls 4x400m relay, girls 4x800m relay, Claire DuChateau(1600m and 3200m), and Sienna Blohowiak (100m and 400m) are slated to compete.

 

 

It is a return trip to Hilbert for the other schools from Door and Kewaunee counties. The sectional will include Algoma, Almond-Bancroft, Assumption, Bonduel, Bowler, Cedar Grove-Belgium, Coleman, Crivitz, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Florence, Gibraltar, Gillett, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Gresham, Howards Grove, Iola-Scandinavia, Kewaunee, Kohler, Laona-Wabeno, Lena/STAA, Lourdes Academy, Manawa, Manitowoc Lutheran, Marion, Mishicot, Nekoosa, Niagara, Oakfield, Oconto, Oneida Nation, Ozaukee, Pacelli, Port Edwards, Providence Academy (Green Bay), Random Lake, Reedsville, Roncalli, Rosholt, Sevastopol, Sheboygan Area Lutheran, Sheboygan Christian, Shiocton, Southern Door, St. Mary Catholic, St. Mary's Springs Academy, Suring, Tigerton, Tri-County, Valders, Valley Christian, Weyauwega Fremont, Wild Rose, and Wolf River Lutheran.

The top four in each sectional and top eight other results across the state will punch their ticket to next weekend's state meet at UW-La Crosse.
