Former Packers OC Lewis passes away at age 83

Sherman Lewis, former Packers Offensive Coordinator (1992-99), passed away this past Friday at the age of 83.

Lewis helped make history with the Packers, along with Ray Rhodes, when the two were named offensive and defensive coordinators. This marked the first time that an NFL team had two Black coordinators.

Before Lewis was a part of the Packers coaching staff, he was the San Francisco 49ers running backs and wide receivers coach, where he helped coach the team to three Super Bowl wins. Then in ‘97, he earned his fourth Super Bowl ring when the Packers beat the New England Patriots.
