All but two of the area's local softball teams will have at least a week to prepare for their WIAA Tournament opener after the brackets were announced on Monday.
Sevastopol is the lone team to have a game when the tourament officially begins on Thursday when they host Montello at 4:30 p.m. Sturgeon Bay will also begin their tournament run on Thursday with a game at Kiel with a trip to #2 New Holstein on the line.
The winner of that game will face Algoma on May 26th. The Wolves and Southern Door both earned top seeds in their respective divisions. The Eagles will await the winner of Thursday's Mishicot/Chilton matchup. Luxemburg-Casco was given a #2 seed and they will play Marinette or New London on May 26th.
Gibraltar/Washington Island and Kewaunee know their opponents, but they will also start their tournament runs on May 26th. The Vikings will host Marion while the Storm will travel to Brillion.
