Gamblers make 15 picks in Phase 1 of USHL draft

The Green Bay Gamblers had a busy first night of the 2026 USHL draft, making 15 picks in Phase 1.

The Gamblers' first pick was in the third round, which saw them take Bobby Spang. Spang is a wing who is seen as a good shot creator and has the ability to take over during his shift. Their next two picks also went to wings in Jiho Song and Tyler LaDuca.

The Gamblers then added two centers in Mason Bricker and Thomas Boisvert. Scouts say both of these players have great two-way upside and add needed depth to the Gamblers' roster.

The Gamblers spent their next few picks on a group of forwards highlighted by Adam Hlavá?ek, a strong scorer from Czechia. The other forwards include Brayden Hekle, Adam Erstad, Carter Schoegler, and Riley Wolkove.

Also making additions on the defensive side, the Gamblers scooped up Micah Socha, who was one of the top-rated defenders available. Jonathan Cooper, son of Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper, Gunnar Lager, and Garrett Sutton rounded out the defensemen.  Green Bay, with its final pick, scooped up goaltender Connor Reed.
