The Green Bay Blizzard picked up a wild one Friday night, holding off the Fishers Freight 57-52 to move to 6-1 on the season.
Liam Thompson was the engine behind everything for Green Bay, throwing for 209 yards and three touchdowns while adding three more scores on the ground. He finished 17-of-22 through the air and tacked on 48 rushing yards, giving him six total touchdowns on the night.
Isaac Ross led the receiving corps with six catches for 73 yards and a score, while Draysean Hudson hauled in four balls for 65 yards. Terrell Carey chipped in five receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown as well.
The Blizzard were the more efficient team on offense, racking up 297 total yards compared to 230 for Fishers, and controlled the clock with over 43 minutes of possession. Franky West Jr. led the defense with seven tackles.
It wasn’t without some drama though. Green Bay saw the Freight hang 52 points and pull within striking distance in the fourth quarter before the Blizzard put it away.
The Blizzard will look to keep it rolling in week 9 when they host the Quad City Steamwheelers Friday, May 8th at 7pm at the Resch.
