The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team will head west to Minnesota for its NCAA Tournament opener to face the Golden Gophers.

The Phoenix were among the 68 teams read off during yesterday's Selection Sunday festivities, though their spot was secured by winning the Horizon League Tournament last week.

The Golden Gophers finished fourth in the Big Ten with a 22-8 overall mark and a 13-5 record in the conference. They lost to Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament on March 6th. 

The Phoenix are looking for their first NCAA Tournament win since 2012 when they play at Williams Arena on Friday at a time to be determined. The winner of the matchup will face either #5 Ole Miss or #12 Gonzaga on Sunday.
