Packers letting players walk

Even if the deals are not official until later this week, it already appears that the Green Bay Packers will look vastly different during the 2026-2027 season.

According to multiple sources across the NFL, some moves from Monday included:

  • Packers release OL Elgton Jenkins
  • DE Kingsley Enagbare to sign with Jets
  • QB Malik Willis agrees to sign with Dolphins
  • Packers trade DE Rashan Gary to Cowboys for 2027 pick
  • Packers re-signing LB Kristian Welch
  • Packers re-signing OL Darian Kinnard

The only move that has been confirmed by the organization is the release of Jenkins, who was a two-time Pro Bowler as a do-it-all offensive lineman. "Elgton established himself as one of the best and most versatile offensive linemen in the league during his time in Green Bay," said General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Packers.com. "He contributed so much to our success over the past seven seasons and was a tremendous leader and teammate who brought an unselfishness and toughness to our team. We want to thank Elgton for all that he gave to this franchise and we wish him nothing but the best in the future."

Deals from the legal tampering period will not be confirmed until the real start of the league year later this week.
