Phoenix women outlast Jags

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team ended their regular season home schedule on a high note Wednesday night with a 72-61 win over IU-Indianapolis.

 

The two teams exchanged lopsided runs in the first half with the Phoenix outscoring the Jaguars 21-8 in the first quarter only to be outscored 19-9 in the second quarter. The game was tied at 48 entering the fourth quarter when the Phoenix opened the frame with an 11-0 run, giving them a margin they would not concede the rest of the game.

 

Maddy Skorupski scored 20 points to lead the Phoenix while Jenna Guyer added 19 points, Meghan Schultz contributed 10 points, and Kamy Peppler chipped in eight points.

 

The Phoenix return to action this weekend when they face Purdue Fort Wayne on the road before opening the Horizon League tournament next Wednesday.
