Guyer drops career-high on Senior Day as Phoenix complete season sweep of Panthers

Guyer poured in a career-high 23 points to lead the Green Bay Phoenix to a dominant 91-57 win over the Milwaukee Panthers on Saturday at the Kress Center. With the win, Green Bay not only secured the outright Horizon League regular season title, but also completed the regular season sweep of Milwaukee.

Green Bay ripped off a 13-0 run to start the game and never looked back. The Phoenix led 24-12 after one quarter, doing most of their damage inside with 16 points in the paint.

Guyer set the tone early and stayed aggressive throughout, finishing 10-of-16 from the field and knocking down three triples in 31 minutes. She also grabbed six rebounds, tying for the team high.

Meghan Schultz added 18 points in just 21 minutes, and Carley Duffney chipped in 16 points and six rebounds as four Phoenix players reached double figures. Maddy Skorupski handed out 11 assists to go with 10 points for a less traditional double-double.

The Phoenix shot 58.1 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from deep while assisting on 27 of their made field goals. Meanwhile, the defense held Milwaukee to 36.1 percent shooting and limited the Panthers to just seven offensive rebounds and six second-chance points.

Green Bay went into the break up 49-26 and pushed the margin to 65-38 heading into the fourth. An 11-0 run late in the final quarter stretched the advantage to 89-50 before the reserves closed it out.

The Phoenix dominated the glass 40-27, recorded six steals, and scored a season-high 91 points in the win.

Green Bay will prepare to host IU Indianapolis on Wednesday night with two games remaining in the regular season. It's a 6 p.m. tip off for the 21-7 Phoenix.
