Green Bay Gamblers goaltender Leo Henriquez was named last week’s USHL Goalie of the Week. In back-to-back games against the Lincoln Stars, Henriquez turned away 43 shots, earning his first two career USHL shutouts.
Henriquez didn’t just stop shots — he added one to the scoresheet himself. In the final minutes of the third period, he scored an empty-net goal to cap off a Gordie Howe hat trick.
The feat is extremely rare, especially for a goaltender. A Gordie Howe hat trick includes a goal, an assist, and a fight.
Recently, Henriquez committed to the University of New Hampshire, where he will continue his career at the Division I level following his time in Green Bay.
