One night after getting back in the win column, the Green Bay Gamblers made an even louder statement Saturday at the Resch Center.
Green Bay rolled past the Lincoln Stars 5-0 in front of nearly 7,500 fans, securing the weekend sweep and back-to-back shutouts.
The Gamblers struck first late in the opening period when Lukas Rozsíval buried his 18th goal of the season off a setup from Conboy at 10:43, sending Green Bay into the first intermission ahead 1-0.
After a scoreless second period the Gamblers exploded in the third. Wooten pushed the lead to 2-0 with a power-play goal at 11:01.
Green Bay then broke it open late. Goaltender Raul “Junior” Henriquez capped off his stellar weekend with his first career empty-net goal at 18:30 bringing the crowd to its feet. Goals from McKinney and Carson Martin followed in the final minute to seal the 5-0 win.
Next Friday, Green Bay travels to Dubuqe for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop.
