Green Bay gets back on track with shutout win

The Green Bay Gamblers bounced back Friday night at the Resch Center, blanking the Lincoln Stars 2-0 in front of 3,597 fans.

Green Bay wasted no time getting on the board. Just 36 seconds into the opening period, Tate Hafele lit the lamp for his ninth goal of the season off a feed from Carson Martin, giving the Gamblers an early 1-0 edge.

That was all the support Raul Henriquez would need. The Green Bay netminder turned aside all 22 shots he faced, including 10 in the second period, to secure the shutout. Lincoln managed just four shots in the third as the Gamblers tightened things up defensively.

Green Bay iced it late when Knutson buried his eighth of the year into the empty net with 1:19 remaining, assisted by O’Sullivan.

The Gamblers outshot the Stars 28-22 and controlled the pace most of the night, limiting Lincoln to just one power play opportunity.

Green Bay returns to action looking to build momentum after snapping its recent skid with the 2-0 victory.
