The Green Bay Gamblers gave up three unanswered goals after clawing back to tie the game in a 6-3 loss to Sioux Falls on Thursday.
Trailing 2-0 entering the second period, David Rozsíval and Gavin Katz tied the game within the first five minutes. The Stampede responded almost immediately, scoring their three goals in a four-minute timespan that chased goaltender Joey Slavick from the game and left the Gamblers trailing 5-2. Geno Carcone added one more for the Gamblers in the opening minute of the third period, but an empty netter added insult to injury as the Stampede took the first game of the extended weekend set.
The two teams face each other again at Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
