Packers' Parsons named finalist for AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year

Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Micah Parsons has been named one of five finalists for the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year award.

The winner will be announced at the NFL Honors ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.

Parsons joined the Packers in August via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys. In 14 games with Green Bay, he recorded 41 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 26 quarterback hits and 83 pressures, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

This marks the fourth time Parsons has been named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year in his five-year NFL career. He finished second in the voting in each of his first two seasons and third the following year.
